History and Philosophy

In 1990, as a solo practitioner, Dr. Caroline Gilje opened the doors to Barrett Station Veterinary Clinic. Since that time, Barrett Station Veterinary Clinic has evolved into a practice with 5 doctors and an exceptional, caring staff of more than 20 members. In 2005, Barrett Station Veterinary Clinic marked another chapter in our continual progression when we moved into our brand new, state-of-the-art facility.

Our commitment to you: we will provide expertise with the diagnosis and treatment of any pet-related malady; no matter how large or small --- all concerns are significant and valued by our staff; and, all questions will be addressed in a respectful, meaningful and timely manner.

Our goal is to supply you with top-notch tools, resources and medical management to keep your pet healthy and happy for years to come.

I cannot praise these vets highly enough. While my primary vet is Dr. John Pletz, I have seen all of the vets and they are fantastic, as is all of the staff. They saw me through the death of my beloved Max, Dr. Pletz keeps senior Maude comfortable with her skin issues, and Dr. Caroline seems to address every issue with professionalism and concern. They are all truly caring.

If your dog has allergies as mine does, Dr. John Pletz and wife are fantastic. My dog literally looked like she was dying. I have followed Dr. Pletz from Webster to Wildwood and now to Barrett Station. Millie, my dog, her paws were without hair and bleeding, her skin condition was just awful. Hot spots all the time. I went to him and she looks brand new. Dr. Pletz calls her Million dollar Millie because we have taken so many steps to help her with this condition. I give him 5 arf's.

We took our rescue kitten in to see Dr. Gilje for the first time earlier this year. Having had many pets over the years and seen many veterinarians, I can honestly say that Dr. Gilje has been the most attentive and caring vet we have ever had. She spent a good deal of time with us explaining our rescue kitty's health issues and was ever so gentle with him. Dr. Gilje's entire team is extremely friendly and courteous. We feel fortunate to have found this veterinary practice. We will continue to go to Barret Station for all of our future pet health needs. Thank you to everyone at Barrett Station Vet Clinic!
